I will glorify the Name of the LORD

“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God” Psalm 20:7

Some time back, an evangelist called me to go with him to see a car, which he is about to buy. The person who was selling the car told us, if you go by the car, no cops will stop you (in India); because this car will give them an impression, a VIP is travelling in the car. The car was an expensive one.

The seller was boasting about the car.

I was thinking of buying a bike, and was checking through various options available in the market, and finally I decided to buy one bike and I started to boast about the best features of the bike even before I bought that bike. Still I didn’t buy the bike.

I was boasting about the bike even before I buy that.

The verse I have taken for today’s meditation is “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God” Psalm 20:7.

In Tamil language translation the word “trust” is translated as boasting. The same word is used for what is written in Galatians 6:14 and the word remember is translated to glorifying.

Now let us focus on what the Psalmist says here, he was saying he will glorify only the name of the LORD.

The parents of a child visualize (desires) how the child’s life should be and in that expectation, the parents call that name to the child. For GOD it is not like this. The Name of the LORD says the characteristics of GOD.

Some of the Names of the GOD are given in Isaiah 9:6, “… his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace”. These are the characteristics of the LORD.

The Holy Bible tells us in Proverbs 18:10, “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe”. I am encouraged by this that we have a refuge in the name of the LORD. Many times we panic what to do, where to go when storms struck us, but here the verse says, “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: … “

When we are in need we can trust in the Name of the LORD, “JEHOVAH JIREH” – The LORD himself our provider.

When we are in need of physical healing, we can trust in the Name of the LORD, “JEHOVAH RAFAH”, GOD our Healer. We have healing in the wounds of JESUS CHRIST. The Holy Bible tells us in Isaiah 53:5, “…with his stripes we are healed”

We can go one saying about the names of the LORD. If GOD is willing, I will write a series of devotions on the Names of the LORD.

We also have salvation in the name of the LORD JESUS CHRIST , "But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His name", John 20:31 also “…thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins”, Matthew 1:21.

“And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved; …“, Joel 2:32 (NIV)

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”, Romans 10:13

So we have a refuge in the Name of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, our Savior.

Dear reader, if you have not made JESUS CHRIST as your LORD and Savior, will you pray this simple prayer and become a part of the Heavenly family of JESUS CHRIST.

Dear JESUS CHRIST, I believe you are the Son of GOD, came to this world to save my soul from my sin. I believe you died on the Cross for my sins and rose again on the third day. I accept You as my LORD and Savior. Forgive me and wash away all my sins with your Holy Blood and make me a partaker of heavenly family. Amen.

Does your prayers not answered?

"If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you", John 15:7

"If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it", John 14:14

In this edition of the devotion, we will meditate on how to pray so that our prayers will bring answers from our LORD JESUS CHRIST. The Holy Bible tells us that our GOD is prayer answering GOD, “O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come”, Psalm 65:2

First, the Holy Bible tells us, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:” Psalm 66:18. It is necessary for us that our sins must be forgiven before we present our supplication to the LORD. The Holy Bible tells us, “… the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin”, 1 John 1:7 also, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” 1 John 1:9

Second, Our Prayers should be Prayed in the Name of our LORD JESUS CHRIST. Our LORD JESUS CHRIST said in John 14:14, “If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it”. So let us address our Prayers in the Mighty NAME of our LORD JESUS CHRIST. Prayer which is not addressed in the Name of the Lord JESUS is like a letter posted without “TO” address which will never reach the destination.

Third, we should believe that whatsoever we ask, our LORD JESUS CHRIST
is able to do it. Our LORD JESUS CHRIST said in Matthew 21:22, “...whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive”

Fourth, we should ask according to the will of the LORD. The Holy Bible tells us in 1 John 5:14, “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: “

And finally, we should not ask the things to full-fill our evil desires. The Holy Bible warns us in James 4:3 “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts”

At times we feel, we have Prayed as above still we found we are not getting answers for our Prayers. Many times we may not get answers immediately and we may have to wait for the LORD's time for the answer that could take days, weeks, months, and even years. The Holy Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 3:1, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:”, also the Holy Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 3:11, “He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: …”

During those times when we didn't receive the answers immediately, we have to wait for HIS time.

I believe this devotion on prayer is a blessing for you.

May the LORD bless us with HIS Peace, Health and Joy.

The will of GOD concerning your life – Thanks Giving

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Many times I have noticed people say “Thanks“ even for little things like paying the bills after purchased something with their own money, to the cab driver after paying the money for their drop etc. They give thanks with a nice smile even to the strangers they meet. I used to think will they show at least ten percent of this to their spouse.

It is the will of GOD that we should give thanks to the LORD in all things. Many of us take things for granted. But the LORD says, “He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me” Psalm 50:23.

In Holy Bible we can see the many thanks giving passages. I would like to quote one inspirational passage.

Job said, “..Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD” Job 1:21.

When Job said the above passage, He had lost all the material possessions he had. He was the wealthiest person in the middle east during his days, "... this man was the greatest of all the men of the east" Job 1:3. We could see the description of his lifestyle in Job chapter 29.

One day the devil came in the presence of GOD and said to the GOD that if GOD only takes every thing from Job, then Job will curse the GOD, "But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face" Job 1:11. GOD gave permission to the devil to take all of Job’s possessions but only to leave him alive, “And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD” Job 1:12

Then the devil started to do its work. The Holy Bible tells us, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:” John 10:10. With in a day, Job lost all of his possessions and his children, Job 1:14-19. It is very hard to imagine the state of Job at that time.

But during that time, Job chose to say “blessed be the name of the LORD” Job 1:21, we can see how he was rewarded for his faithfulness in Job 42:10, “… the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before”

And greatest of all, he saw the LORD, ”I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee” Job 42:5.

While I was writing the above passage, I remembered the quote said by some one, “I lost something which I can not hold forever to gain something which I will never loose”, Praise JESUS

GOD is delighted in this kind of thanks giving.

The will of GOD concerning your life – Lead a Holy Life

For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: 1 Thessalonians 4:3

GOD says, “… Be ye holy; for I am holy” 1 Peter 1:16.

Some time back, a man of GOD entered a browsing center and started to browse. Suddenly he noticed the person sitting next to him was browsing some wicked pictures and this man of GOD started to sense the evil spirit of bondage in that room. He could sense some darkness in that room. It was difficult for this man of GOD to sit there and he started to pray about it his heart was crying for the deliverance of the person who is possessed by this evil spirit.

In this modern world, highly qualified professionals who are inspirational for young kids in their family are addicted to the evil habits like seeing these wicked pictures. It is so sad to see how the devil uses this internet to seduce even these highly qualified professionals.

The GOD who created us says, “… Be ye holy; for I am holy” 1 Peter 1:16.

It is the will of GOD that we should live a holy life. “For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: “1 Thessalonians 4:3

The Holy Bible tells us, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:” Hebrews 12:14

The Holy Bible tells us, “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God” Galatians 5:19-21

Daniel decided not to defile himself with the food of the king. “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank:” Daniel 1:8. He saw the LORD JESUS CHRIST in a vision few hundreds years before LORD JESUS CHRIST came into this world in flesh. “I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him“ Daniel 7:13

Job said, “I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?” Job 31:1 and lead a holy life, and he saw the LORD. “I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee” Job 42:5

Dear reader, the scriptures tells us it is the will of GOD that we should lead a holy life when we live in this earth and the Holy Bible is strict on this that we should not make any compromise on that.

It is the will of GOD that everyone should be saved.


LORD JESUS CHRIST said “For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day”. John 6:40. Also, GOD “… wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth”, 1 Timothy 2:4

Some time ago, I was meditating on what is the will of GOD concerning the life of a person. What does the LORD wants a common man to do in this world? I believe the LORD expects some minimal things that each person should do while we are living our life, what they are?

I thought of putting a series of messages on the will of GOD concerning our life. This is the first message on the series. I believe the LORD has put these messages in me.

The losses we suffered because of the mistakes and the wrong decisions we made in our life in this world can be recoverable most of the times. If we could identify the will of GOD from the scripture and willing to fulfill those, I believe, we can lead a successful spiritual life.

I want to put the first will of GOD concerning our life is that every one must be saved.

LORD JESUS CHRIST said “For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day”. John 6:40. Also, GOD “… wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth”, 1 Timothy 2:4

When GOD created human beings, GOD created them in His own image. "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them" Genesis 1:27 and “Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; …” Ecclesiastes 7:29.

Human beings were created with free will. Free to choose between good and evil. We are not robot but we are made in the image of GOD himself. When the human beings are given the choice of good and evil, the human race chose the evil and we could see how wicked today’s world is.

The Holy Bible tells us, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23. All of humanity is under the bondage of sin. "Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin" John 8:34. We need a Savior to get us out from this misery.

But GOD doesn’t want the human race in this pathetic condition. GOD decided to save them and restore the fellowship between human beings and GOD.

A jailor asked Apostle Paul, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”  Acts 16:30 and Apostle Paul said to him, “…Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house” Acts 16:31

All we need to do is Believe in LORD JESUS CHRIST.

The Holy Bible tells us, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” John 3:16 and “God was manifest in the flesh” I Timothy 3:16 and “thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins” Matthew 1:21

The GOD came to this world in flesh, taken the punishment for the sin committed by the entire humanity across the ages on him. "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed" Isaiah 53:5.

The Holy Bible tells us, JESUS CHRIST was crucified on the cross and rose again from dead for our sins. “And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay” Matthew 28:5,6

HE shed all of HIS blood on the Cross to wash our sins. “the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin" 1 John 1:7

To go to heaven, all we need to do is believe in JESUS CHRIST that He has taken our sins on himself and delivered us from sin. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" Romans 10:9, 10.

And also LORD JESUS CHRIST said in Mark 16:16, “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13

To get saved, all we need to do is just believe in these things

Dear reader, if you are not saved or you are not sure about your salvation, you can also be saved by saying this simple Prayer,

Dear JESUS CHRIST, I believe you are the Son of GOD, came to this world to save my soul from my sin. I believe you died on the Cross for my sins and rose again on the third day. I accept You as my LORD and Savior. Forgive me and wash away all my sins with your Holy Blood and make me a partaker of heavenly family. Amen.

After this, take immerse Baptism, because the Holy Bible tells us LORD JESUS CHRIST took immerse baptism “Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him” in Matthew 3:13

Then go to a Pentecostal Bible believing church, I can recommend an Assembly of GOD church. They will help you to walk in the path of Salvation continually. It is not the end of our salvation; it is only the beginning of our salvation. The Holy Bible tells us, “…work out your own salvation with fear and trembling” Philippians 2:12. “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved” Matthew 24:13.

The soul of a person lives forever

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” John 3:16

Some time back a girl came to me and initiated a talk with me about global warming. She said she is a voluntary worker and not get paid for the work she does. She said many things about global warming and I could sense a feel of worry and responsibility on her face. She worried for this planet.

Major IT companies spread the awareness of not using plastic bags. The shops in their company uses paper bag instead of plastic bags. They worry plastic takes thousands of years to get destroyed.

Peoples are taking cloth bags or paper bags to the shop to buy things.

It is stunning for me, how much awareness they created with in a short time. People are winning Nobel prizes for contributing in this and billions of dollars spent on this.

I appreciated the girl with whom I had a talk regarding the global warming and before we depart, I asked her how much she worries about her soul? The inner being of a person and the real person.

Do you worry for your soul? We should worry for our Soul at least as much we worry for the global warming if not more.

The Holy Bible tells us human beings are made in the image of GOD.

"God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:" Genesis 1:26.

After the death only the shell, our body gets destroyed, but the soul, the real inner being of a person is not destroyed. It is separated from body and it lives for ever. God lives forever and the souls human being also lives forever. But where we spend our eternity is the question. GOD created two places to spend our eternity. One is the Kingdom of Heaven where GOD wants His holy people to spend their eternity and another place is hell.

Heaven is a place where we can live with GOD. The Holy Bible tells us, “And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever” Revelation 22:1-5. Only Holy people who deserve to stand in the presence of the GOD can go to Heaven.

And the Holy Bible tells us hell is eternal separation from GOD our creator and it is a place of eternal torment., "And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh" Isaiah 66:24.

It was created for the people who were deceived by the devil. "And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. ...And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire" Revelation 20:10, 14-15.

Also the Holy Bible tells us, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9. “And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” Genesis 6:5.

None of us qualify for Heaven in the sight of GOD.

But GOD loved us so much and He gave us a way for us to go to Heaven and live with Him forever.

The Holy Bible tells us, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” John 3:16 and “God was manifest in the flesh” I Timothy 3:16 and “thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins” Matthew 1:21

Dear reader, if you are not sure where you will spend your eternity, you can make a commitment today to make JESUS CHRIST as your LORD and Savior. You can make this commitment by saying this simple prayer.

Only Way to Heaven: JESUS CHRIST

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

I was looking for the road route to reach Coimbatore from Bangalore in google maps. I found three routes. NH-47 (330 kms), SH-17(339 kms), NH-209(350 kms). All the routes start from Bangalore and reaches to Coimbatore. One can follow any route to start from Bangalore and to reach Coimbatore.

In the same way, the new age world currently believes that there are many ways to reach heaven. A famous TV host in USA said in her interview she does not believe in only one way but in multiple ways to reach Heaven.

Heaven is not Coimbatore, where we can reach by multiple roads.

The Holy Bible says, "And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein" Isaiah 35:8. The above verse clearly says there is only one way to reach the heaven. It is the way of holiness.

Also the Holy Bible tells us, “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” Matthew 7:13,14.

The above verse says, "wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction". People who believe there are many ways to reach heaven fall in this category. Some people worship nature, creations, not the creator. Some worship dead peoples, that they might have been changed to GOD after their death. If some one could not help while he was alive, how could he help after his death? Some people worship angels. Some worship human beings. Some worship idols. The idol worshipers, the makers of the idol "changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things" Romans 1:20-23.

What is this way actually to go through in it?

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

JESUS CHRIST, came into this world to save us(to take us to heaven). The Holy Bible tells us, ".. God was manifest in the flesh..." 1 Timothy 3:16. He came to us to save us from eternal hell. The Holy Bible says there is Heaven and hell.

hell is the place of eternal suffering, there is no way to come our from hell. "And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh" Isaiah 66:24. After the death one has to face the judgment. Only the Holy people alone can go in "The way of holiness". Even if anyone has only one sin in their life, they can not enter into Heaven.

Heaven is a Holy place. No one in the earth qualifies for heaven. The Holy Bible tells us, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9.

So, to reach heaven our sins needs to be washed. The Holy Bible tells us,  "the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin" 1 John 1:7. Also the Holy Bible tells us, "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool" Isaiah 1:18.

Few years back, after I got repented for my sins, and washed by the Blood of JESUS CHRIST, accepting JESUS CHRIST as my LORD and Savior, during those days, I saw a dream of a silk cloth, its color looked like the color of the polar glaciers, may be this could be what mentioned in Isaiah 1:18.

The Holy Bible tells us, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God" John 3:16-18.

GOD loves us and came to the world to save us from our sins. All we need to do is to repent for our sins, washed in the Blood of JESUS CHRIST and accept him as the LORD and Savior of our life.
