How to receive pardon for our sins?

He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy
(Proverbs 28:13)

Praise JESUS

Some time back, I read a story of how a prisoner got pardon from a king. The story goes like this...

A king on his birthday decided to pardon few criminals. So the king went to the prison and asked every prisoner what was the reason for their punishment? Almost all but one said, I am innocent and I am here because of the mistakes made by the law enforcement officials. But one criminal said, I did such and such a mistake and I deserve to be in the prison, that's why I am here. The king got surprised and said, "It is not good to keep a criminal in midst of innocents, send this criminal out from the midst of these innocents".

Though it was just a story it has all the essence of how to receive pardon.

Our Lord JESUS CHRIST had said many small stories. HE said one story on how to receive pardon and Justification from the LORD. It is mentioned in the Gospel of Luke 18:10-14,“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’ “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted”

We could see the some thin line of similarities between the above two stories.

The Holy Bible tells us, “… he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” 1 John 2:2.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” 1 John 1:9

Once we made the confession, we should make up our mind not to repeat the same sin again. The genuine repentance puts its best effort not to repeat the same sin. It doesn’t mean that we will never fall again, but when our LORD JESUS CHRIST sees our dedication, HE will definitely give us the grace overcome the sin.

Only JESUS CHRIST alone can take us to into heaven. Let us ask pardon for our sins and trust him to take us to heaven, the rest is assured.

Hallelujah
