The will of GOD concerning your life – Thanks Giving

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Praise JESUS

Many times I have noticed people say “Thanks“ even for little things like paying the bills after purchased something with their own money, to the cab driver after paying the money for their drop etc. They give thanks with a nice smile even to the strangers they meet. I used to think will they show at least ten percent of this to their spouse.

It is the will of GOD that we should give thanks to the LORD in all things. Many of us take things for granted. But the LORD says, “He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me” Psalm 50:23.

In Holy Bible we can see the many thanks giving passages. I would like to quote one inspirational passage.

Job said, “..Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD” Job 1:21.

When Job said the above passage, He had lost all the material possessions he had. He was the wealthiest person in the middle east during his days, "... this man was the greatest of all the men of the east" Job 1:3. We could see the description of his lifestyle in Job chapter 29.

One day the devil came in the presence of GOD and said to the GOD that if GOD only takes every thing from Job, then Job will curse the GOD, "But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face" Job 1:11. GOD gave permission to the devil to take all of Job’s possessions but only to leave him alive, “And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD” Job 1:12

Then the devil started to do its work. The Holy Bible tells us, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:” John 10:10. With in a day, Job lost all of his possessions and his children, Job 1:14-19. It is very hard to imagine the state of Job at that time.

But during that time, Job chose to say “blessed be the name of the LORD” Job 1:21, we can see how he was rewarded for his faithfulness in Job 42:10, “… the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before”

And greatest of all, he saw the LORD, ”I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee” Job 42:5.

While I was writing the above passage, I remembered the quote said by some one, “I lost something which I can not hold forever to gain something which I will never loose”, Praise JESUS

GOD is delighted in this kind of thanks giving.
